I find it truly fascinating how one of the main topics that pulls couples apart (money) can actually be a uniting pillar.

There's an old saying that says: “A family that prays together, stays together.”

Well, I think we should also add: a couple that plans financially together, stays together. Think about it: a couple that is united in their core values is solid and nothing is more telling of your values than what you both do with your money.

Tell me what you spend on, and I'll tell you what you value.

An individual can say they are honest, giving and moral, but if their money tells a different story, their words will hold no weight.

Some people say money is bad, but in reality, money is nothing more than a reflection of who you really decide to be.

That's why it's so crucial for couples to have LOTS of discussions around their finances. Together you can decide what you most value. Is it education, luxury, charity, traveling, saving, all of the above?

An Abundant Union

Financial wealth is like physical health or spiritual wealth; you can't expect to maintain it without consistency or discipline. Perhaps that's why so many couples struggle in manifesting abundance together.

My husband and I have gone thru our share of arguments when it comes to money. In fact, I would say that for the first 5 years of our relationship money felt more of a divisive topic rather than a uniting one.

However, I thank God that we did not shy away from money conversations, no matter how uncomfortable these were.

Let's be honest, talking about money is like talking about sex. These two topics bring up shame and vulnerability like nothing else.

Nonetheless, I can attest to the fact that as a result of these difficult conversations, we have become stronger and more united. Did I mention it's also been the catalyst for our abundant life?

This is why we are so passionate about encouraging other couples to embrace these difficult money talks.
